Natural Consequences
An article by a very good friend of mine caused me to do some serious thinking. All too often when things go wrong for us we say, "That is the Lord's will", and so we remove the responsibility from our shoulders when in reality what has happened was merely a natural consequence of the action we took. The Lord does not will for us to be anguished, but if we do something like stick a finger in the fire, we will get burned. And it is not because it was God's will, but because of our unwise actions. The beauty comes in knowing that despite our imprudence, "all things work together for good to them that love God." Matthew 5:45 "... for He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." |
